TravineraPrivacy policy
Last updated 24 September 2026. Applies to the Travinera app for iPhone and to travinera.com.
In short: Travinera has no accounts and no servers that hold your data. The people you add, your trips and your saved places stay on your iPhone. The app asks other services only for what it needs to answer you — a map search, a forecast, an encyclopedia summary, a data update — and never sends who is travelling.
Who is responsible
Travinera is published by Bogdan Iliescu, an individual developer in the European Union, who is the controller for the purposes of the GDPR. Contact: the form on the support page.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you enter is stored only on your device, in the app's own storage:
- Travellers: name as you type it, passport and ID-card countries and expiry dates, country of residence, birth year, diets and how strict they are, mobility and stairs, pets. Travinera never asks for document numbers.
- Trips, destinations on them, dates, home airports, saved destinations and places, recently viewed destinations.
- Your comfort band, rain tolerance and units, and your answers to "Was this accurate?".
You can export all of it to a file (Settings → Export) and delete all of it (Settings → Delete all my data). Deleting the app deletes it too. Travinera does not back it up anywhere itself; if a future version offers iCloud sync, it will use your own iCloud account and this policy will say so first.
What the app sends, and to whom

These are always the coordinates of the destination you are looking at: Travinera never asks for, reads or sends your own location. As with any internet request, these services see your device's IP address. Travinera does not send names, passports, ages, diets or any other traveller details to any of them. Apple Maps and weather results are shown and then discarded; Travinera stores only Apple's identifier for a place you save.
Usage statistics and crash reports
To learn which features are used and to fix crashes, Travinera may send anonymous usage signals to TelemetryDeck and crash reports to Sentry. Usage signals contain events such as "a destination was viewed", "a search found nothing" (with the search text), or "a finding was marked accurate" (with the rule, never the traveller); they carry no name, contact or advertising identifier, and TelemetryDeck receives only an anonymised device identifier. Crash reports contain technical details of the crash and the device model, never your entered data. Travinera does not use tracking, advertising identifiers or third-party advertising.
This website
travinera.com is hosted by Netlify. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics. If you use the Android waitlist or the support form, what you type (for example your email address) is stored by Netlify and used only to answer you or to send the single Android announcement. Ask through the support form and it is deleted.
Legal basis and retention
Requests the app makes to answer you are made to provide the service you asked for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Anonymous statistics and crash reports rely on legitimate interest in keeping the app working (Art. 6(1)(f)). Diet and mobility details that relate to health stay on your device and are never processed by Travinera elsewhere. Form messages are kept until the matter is closed, and the waitlist until the Android announcement is sent.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of anything held about you, object to processing, or complain to your data protection authority. Because the app keeps your travel details only on your device, most of this is in your hands directly: export or delete them in Settings.
Children
You can add children to a trip so the report fits your family; their details stay on your device like everyone else's. Travinera is not directed at children using it alone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes, and a significant change is announced in the app before it applies.
